Jay Ahern (aka Hauntologists, Add Noise) grew up in Florida, where "bass music" and it's subsonic pulse were the soundtrack to those hot and humid Florida nights. Later on Jay heard the sound again in a new flavour - Chicago House and Detroit Techno - and during the 90's he started the Aquarhythms label, releasing mixes by Carl Craig, Morgan Geist as well as under his own monikers to keep the deep beats rolling.
Stepping out of the 'wayback machine' and returning to the recent present, when Jay was on tour in Belgrade he met up with Goran Simonoski (of BGYSS, Piece of Shh...) and the two of them bonded over dub, acid house and bass. It was then decided a collaboration was in order. Soon "Words, Breaths and Pauses" was born, the A-side track of the first C&D EP distributed by Hardwax. Support for this EP has come from a diverse amount of DJs, including: DJ Three, Dan Bell, Norman Nodge, Len Faki, Brendon Moeller, Sascha Dive, Deetron, Perc, Oliver Ho, Magda, Cio D'Or, DJ Hell, The Black Dog, Josh Wink and Eric Cloutier. Bass is the place!
